Saanvi is quite the transporter. Usually she raids the kitchen and transports cans and utensils out. Today she rescues a bunch of hatch green chile from what would have been certain demise.Her mom made her put them back. That is quite a feat!

At 21 months Saanvi can fully operate the ipod touch. She recognizes the icons and plays her favorite games. Currently her favorites are Bubbles and Balloons. Watch as she unlocks the ipod and proceeds to click the appropriate icon. This could be dynamite for Apple. “So intuitive a 1 year old can use it.” I sent the previous post to Apple. Haven’t heard back.

An iPod at 14 Months

At 14 months Saanvi has got the hang of the iPod. She learnt to unlock it a few months ago,but this is the first video I have of her actually going through the pictures.

She started playing with the iPod touch since she was 10 months old. She instinctively learnt to unlock it then, but couldnt do much after it started up. She now knows how to browse the photo gallery and play movies. Listen carefully you can actually hear her say ‘mama’, ‘teddy’ and ‘coco’ our dogs name.

Saanvi may look like her mom but is a geek at heart. The little 10 month old gamer is already playing with my Nintendo DS.

The game in this clip is Contra 4. She does not understand what she is playing but the little guy moves when the buttons are pushed… that’s worth pushing the buttons. She can be occupied with this for hours.

Fast Car (but no loose women)

A nissan 300zx, twin turbo. I can officially say it is the fastest car I have driven. My friend Randey (yes with an ‘e’) just bought this car a few weeks ago and I got to drive it today. Unfortunately the ride was short and too tame to do the car justice, but I intend to drive it again on more open roads with higher speed limits.

Not being a car person myself I cannot compare it to previous experiences… but it was exhilirating to say the least. I believe the car had an accelerometer that had the units in Gs. I am sure Randey will be able to satisfy his Knight Rider fantasies (he just needs a talking computer add on).

Saanvi has taken over the living room. Her ‘play pen’ … ahem ‘arena’ is a about 120 sft. She has recently learnt to stand up grabbing the panels and walk around the border. The attached video shows her standing with support and mouthing off in baby talk.She has learnt to say “Ba Ba” and other similar sounds. 4 days ago she started to use her tongue to make sounds. I will post a recording soon.

Saanvi’s Onnoprashan (First Rice ceremony)

We had a fun first rice ceremony for Saanvi. This ceremony signifies the first time a baby eats solid foods. We however cheated, because Saanvi has been having solids for a few weeks now.

Saanvi was looking very cute in her traditional Indian dress. Part of the ceremony requires her to pick one of several items to foretell her future. The attached video is so cute.
